So.... Jordan is gone. rip
I actually feel really bad about it, because being blindsided in a 13-1 vote is BRUTAL. And what sucks the most is that I know he has no idea why we did it. And looking at it from an objective standpoint, I can see how it's confusing. He was a guaranteed number for me, but he was a completely uncontrollable number. Jordan is a REALLY nice guy, and the things that make him such a nice guy really work out in real life. But in Survivor, those same things are a curse. In Survivor, being extremely talkative can come across as abrasive, as opposed to energetic. And in Survivor, standing up to bullies just puts a bigger target on your back, as opposed to being seen as a nice thing to do.
In survivor, it doesn't matter whether you're justified when you call someone out in a public chat. It makes you look like a loose cannon and everybody is worried that they'll be next. I feel awful about it personally, but strategically I'd rather have an enemy who I can predict as opposed to an ally that can go off at any moment. He just got SO intense over such little things only a few days into the game that he just was not a sustastainable ally. It wasn't even just the drama with Albie, that was just the icing on the cake. He grilled Yap over the idol clue which was really awkward. Even if somebody is in an alliance with you, you don't expect or ask them to share the idol clue. That put's them on the spot, especially in front of every other member of the alliance. He also pressured us to leave a call with the rest of the cast to go hang out with him just because he didn't want to be on a call with Albie. You never expect other people to leave calls to talk to you! I'm actually happy when I ask Tom or Yap to get on call and they say, "give me a while, I'm on call with ___" because it means they're making connections.
He's a really nice guy, but the qualities that make him a nice guy in real life don't work out for him in Survivor. He came across as abrasive and a loose cannon. Even if you want to fight for the good guys, you do it privately. The minute you start causing drama in the public chat, (which he did start. As much as Albie was the one provoking him privately, Jordan was the one to bring it to a public forum), the minute you become the target.
